Fraser High School Girls Varsity Swim Team 2009

Fraser High School Girls sports have always been held to high expectations with a division A basketball team, a state championship worthy volleyball team, and a swim team that always dominates.
Just last week Danielle Vallier broke the 200IM varsity record, and allowed the ramblers to continue their success in their league. This record followed with wins over L'Anse Creuse Central and Dakota High school to win their first ever league championship.
"Last night we defeated Dakota to win our first ever League Championship in the history of Fraser Girls swimming. In order to accomplish this we had to defeat L'Anse Creuse, the county meet champions from this year and Dakota who also finished in front of us at the county meet. It was a total team effort and was great to watch how hard these girls competed. The Rambler Swim and Dive women representeed our school with the utmost sportsmanship and class be proud of them," said Dave Nowinski head coach of the FHS swim team.

There will be a follow up on this post within the next week. thank you for all (if any) who read. i appreciate it.

Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Rematch 2009

Rematch For Sure, Repeat?
There is no doubt in my mind that the Pens, and the wings will go at least six games this year, but who will have the advantage. when you really think about it, these teams match up so well it's almost scary.... actually, there isn't anyting scary about it. but exciting, yes! I'm now going to rundown the matchup, who vs. who, what vs. what, and who will win the series.
Captains
The Wings have undoubtedly the best Captain, and Defenseman in the world, Nicklas Lidstrom. Although, the Pens have Sydney Crosby, one of the best forwards in the world. Here, you have to take experience, and Defense to be Detroit's best offense, and they get this one.
Special Teams
This one is really unpredictable, Detroit's PK can be hot, or cold, but their Power Play is on fire, same with the Pens. Their PK is average, but at times can be stellar. Look for the team with the most five on five goals to win the series.
Depth
Red Wings, unchallenged. Wings have the advantage because Hosa, Zetterburg, and Datsyuk, aren't the only ones scoring, they have Derek Meech, Johan Franzen, Mikal Samuelson, Jiri Hudler, And the red hot Dan Cleary. when you look at who's scoring the goals for Pittsburgh, its always Malken, and Crosby. Detroit has four lines that can strike at any time, Pittsburgh has two. I don't know about you guys, but Detroit definately has the advantage
Goaltending
Chris Osgoods expirence vs. the precision and energy of the five year net minder Marc-Andr'e Fleury. Fleury has been excelent in this years playoffs, and was outstanding in last years finals. Osgood has his games. If he stays solid, the Wings win, but because of his uncertainty, i have to give this one to the Penguins.
Champion
Given the above, I really have to go with the Wings in six. But don't count out those Penguins, they are mean and they didn't make it all the way to the finals to just sit back and roll over. They are gonna come out of the gate looking for blood.
